On November 30, Muroi and Maruyama of Circular Yokohama, a Yokohama-based circular economy promotion platform operated by our company, gave a vocational lecture to first-year students at Sasage Junior High School in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
This year, the school held a vocational lecture for first-year students as part of their career studies during their comprehensive study period. The objective of the vocational lectures is to increase students’ motivation and interest in working by hearing from local people who are active in various occupations about the process of obtaining their jobs and the rewards of their work. This year, experts from nine professions, including our own, took the stage.
Circular Yokohama explained the process of conducting an interview and writing an article from the perspective of media creation and management. Additionally, they introduced the underlying principles behind Harch’s mission, “Publishing a Better Future.”
We held two lectures, attended by a total of 43 students. The students asked a variety of lively questions, such as “What are some of the happy and sad experiences in media management?” and “Is there anything I can do from junior high school to become a writer?”
After the lecture, students commented that they were impressed by the fact that curiosity is essential to creating better media. We hope that the lecture helped the students learn to make better career choices.
We will continue to strengthen our educational support for the realization of a sustainable society and circular economy.
