On April 24, our representative Kato spoke at the inauguration forum for the circular futures design center at ISL Shizenkan, an event that brought together circular economy practitioners from Japan and the Netherlands.
ISL Shizenkan is a graduate school for working professionals that offers programs in both Japanese and English. Over the past several years, ISL Shizenkan has incorporated circular economy principles into its educational programs to provide hands-on learning experiences. In April 2025, the school launched the “ISL Shizenkan circular futures design center” to further advance its efforts. The center aims to become a hub that promotes the development of a circular economy ecosystem in Japan through collaboration among businesses, governments, educational institutions, and civil society.
Kato moderated the forum as a co-director of the new center. He led the keynote session and discussion titled “the material circularity revolution,” featuring renowned Dutch experts Thomas Rau and Sabine Oberhuber.
We will continue to share information on the circular economy and related initiatives.
