Event report: “B Corp Community Gathering – BCM2024: THIS WAY FORWARD”

On March 8, we participated in the “B Corp Community Gathering – BCM2024: THIS WAY FORWARD,” an event that brought together the Japanese B Corp community.

March is B Corp Month, a month to spread the B Corp (*) movement around the world. In Japan, various events and announcements are being made by companies that have acquired B Corp to raise awareness of the B Corp movement.

* B Corp is an international certification given to companies in the public interest. We obtained this certification in April 2023 (More details).

The “B Corp Community Gathering – BCM2024: THIS WAY FORWARD” was held at Nishimura & Asahi. More than 120 people from companies that have obtained or are in the process of obtaining B Corp status attended the event, including two members of our company, Kato and Matsuda.

The event was organized by B Market Builder Japan. This organization corresponds to the Japanese branch of B Lab, a U.S. non-profit organization that operates B Corp, and was newly established in March 2024 after an open application process held in the fall and winter of 2023.

Following the introduction of each company participating in the event, a presentation about B Market Builder Japan was made, and after a toast, many new encounters and conversations were enjoyed in an enthusiastic atmosphere.

What we sensed at the venue was that there were so many people who, although in different industries, wished to improve society through their daily work and business. We also had the feeling that this enthusiasm will grow at an accelerated pace in the future.

As a member of the B Corp community, we will continue to collaborate with you and promote activities so that we can have an increasingly positive impact on society.
