Screenings begin at cinemo
IDEAS FOR GOOD released its first original short documentary “The Repair Cafe” in october 2024. The film has received warm feedback and has resonated with many viewers as a heartwarming and thoughtful portrayal of community repair culture.
Now, the film is available through cinemo, a platform that distributes films and supports independent screenings with a focus on social issues. Operated by United People, cinemo allows individuals, citizen groups, NPOs, and small businesses to organize screenings of selected films.
We encourage organizers to use this film as part of educational programs, community events, or sustainability and circular economy discussions. It is also an excellent opportunity to reflect on the cultural and social value of repair.

About “The Repair Cafe”
“It’s not just things that need fixing.”
Originating in the Netherlands, the Repair Café is a community-based initiative where volunteers fix broken items for free—ranging from home appliances and clothing to bicycles—that shops often refuse to repair. But their role goes far beyond mending things.
They help restore memories tied to broken items, reconnect fragmented communities, and challenge the take-make-waste culture of modern consumerism.
Who gathers at a Repair Café? What stories unfold as people work together to repair not only objects but also something deeper? This documentary explores the human side of repair.
