Are you interested in exploring sustainable spots in Tokyo?

An exciting media event is coming up on August 24 at a sustainable cafe in Tokyo, Japan! This is the release event for Zenbird’s “Sustainable City Guide: TOKYO,” a digital guidebook for English speakers.

Join us for a lively discussion with Japanese sustainable brands, enjoy ethical coffee and experience upcycling crafts together! Anyone interested in Japan’s sustainable brands and ethical consumption is welcome to join this special event.

Through a talk session about a sustainable brand featured in the guide, enjoying responsibly resourced coffee, and participating in an upcycling workshop, this event allows you to learn about and experience sustainable tourism. Additionally, event participants will receive the guidebook for free as a gift.

Sustainable City Guide: TOKYO introduces you to many of the city’s best sustainable brands across four essential categories: Accommodation, Food & Beverage, Experience and Shopping. If you are interested in exploring sustainable spots in Tokyo, this is a great opportunity.

What do we truly need to achieve “sustainable living” today? In the talk session, we’ll hear about the brand’s story, its vision for a sustainable society, and tips for ethical consumption.

In the workshop, participants will experience reviving materials that would have become waste into upcycled creations. You can enjoy Edo culture activities, such as “monkiri-asobi” (traditional paper cutting). There will also be a gift of Rinne.bar’s original envelopes! Also, a cup of coffee by BIKAS COFFEE will be provided.

What we will talk about

  • How you can be sustainable unconsciously
  • Sustainability can be fun too
  • The wide variety of sustainable experiences you can also have in Tokyo
  • How you can learn to find sustainable brands too

Recommended to join if you

  • are interested in sustainable brands
  • are seeking information about sustainable travel
  • want an opportunity to connect with sustainable brands personally
  • want to make friends interested in making the world a better place

About BIKAS COFFEE

BIKAS COFFEE is a brand that subtly introduces customers to sustainable coffee through everyday consumption. Without initially highlighting its fair trade or sustainable credentials, the brand aims to seamlessly integrate ethical choices into people’s routines.

The coffee comes from Harpan Village, where agroforestry is used for a more sustainable approach compared to conventional coffee plantations. Despite challenges like transportation and climate change, BIKAS COFFEE is committed to making a positive impact.

On weekdays, it operates as a takeout-only coffee stand.
On weekends, it becomes an open space exclusively for members, where fans who share the brand’s philosophy can attend events. It’s a space where you can enjoy coffee and immerse yourself in the brand’s worldview.

About Rinne.bar

Rinne.bar is a spot for everyone to enjoy Upcycling DIY projects while drinking and hanging out with your friends, special someone, or even just by yourself.

It began in 2020 in Shin-Okachimachi, Taito-ku, Tokyo, a leading manufacturing district. Rinne.bar has since become a hub for both traditional and modern manufacturing, embodying Japan’s cherished values of “Mottainai,” craftsmanship and environmental consciousness.

True to its name “Rinne,” meaning “reincarnation” in Japanese, the bar serves both novices and experienced crafters alike. Rinne.bar encourages participants to have fun while creating their own projects, blending enjoyment with sustainability.
