[IDEAS FOR GOOD] Our documentary The Repair Cafe featured on NHK World

Harch’s first documentary film “The Repair Cafe” was recently featured on NHK World’s English-language news program.

The Repair Cafe is the original short documentary produced by our media platform “IDEAS FOR GOOD” which shares ideas to make society better. Originating in the Netherlands, Repair Cafés are community-driven initiatives where volunteers repair broken items—such as electronics, clothing, or bicycles—that shops often refuse to fix. The short film captures the people and stories behind these gatherings, where not only objects but also something greater is being restored.

A still from “The Repair Cafe”

In this NHK World feature, the Repair Café was introduced as a practical example of the circular economy. The program spotlighted scenes from our documentary, featured an interview with the creators, and showcased the growing Repair Café movement in Japan.
