Circular Yokohama, a platform promoting the circular economy in Yokohama, hosted a screening event for Harch’s first short documentary, The Repair Cafe, at Patagonia Yokohama Kannai on December 7.
About The Repair Cafe
The Repair Cafe is the first original short documentary by IDEAS FOR GOOD, a web media platform operated by our company to share ideas that contribute to a better society. Set in Amsterdam, Netherlands, this documentary explores the concept of repair cafes—community spaces where volunteers repair broken items like electronics, clothing, and bicycles for free when shops won’t take on the task. The film captures the people and objects that gather at these repair cafes, revealing the stories of those who repair not just broken “things” but also something beyond the material.

Event highlights
The event featured not only the screening of The Repair Cafe but also an online greeting from the film’s director and a collaborative talk session with Patagonia Yokohama Kannai, IDEAS FOR GOOD, and Circular Yokohama.
Local repair cafe event
In conjunction with the screening, Patagonia Yokohama Kannai hosted a Local Repair Cafe on December 7 and 8.
At the local repair cafe, customers brought damaged or worn clothing—regardless of brand—and had them repaired using simple techniques such as sewing machine repairs and repair patches.
