Circular Yokohama, a platform operated by Harch to promote the circular economy in Yokohama, received the Dissemination and Promotion Division award at the Second Kanagawa Decarbonization Award organized by Kanagawa Prefecture.
What is the Kanagawa Decarbonization Award
In order to achieve a decarbonized society by 2050, this award system honors individuals, businesses, schools, and other entities that have implemented outstanding initiatives related to decarbonization. It is jointly organized with Television Kanagawa Inc. to promote collaborative efforts across “All Kanagawa,” involving residents, businesses, and diverse stakeholders throughout the prefecture.

For the second edition of the award, 26 applicants from the public call and 5 nominees recommended by the prefecture were reviewed by a selection committee composed of experts and others. As a result, a total of 16 recipients were selected, including 6 in the Dissemination and Promotion Division, 3 in the Business Activity Global Warming Countermeasure Plan Division, 4 in the Advanced Technology and Implementation Division, and 3 in the Youth Future Division.

We view this award as recognition that the initiatives we have advanced in Yokohama are contributing to the broader decarbonization efforts across Kanagawa Prefecture. Through Circular Yokohama, we have worked to highlight local resources and connections among people in Yokohama, building systems in which resources circulate within the region while addressing local challenges and creating new value.
Moving forward, we will continue to build on our practical efforts in Yokohama and take on the challenge of creating models of circulation that can extend across Kanagawa and beyond.
Congratulations to all award recipients.
