Since 2021, Circular Economy Hub has been holding its monthly Circular X Series, a study program in which participants can learn about the future image of the circular economy spreading in various industries and fields.
The theme for March 2024 is “Circular economy updates on children’s product market in apparel industry.”
While efforts have been made to improve the environmental performance of children’s products, it has always been a challenge to balance sustainability with safety, convenience, price, and profit. In addition, it is necessary to create products and businesses that do not leave children’s perspectives behind. In this context, new products and business models for children have recently emerged by adopting the idea of the circular economy. It can be said that the circular economy has the potential to solve the above dichotomy.
This online event will focus on the apparel industry as a case study. Taizo Ueda of Miki Shoko Co., Ltd. who pursues both quality safety and sustainability through brand “MIKI HOUSE” and others, and Hideko Tajika of Nippon Association of Consumer Specialists (NACS) who works to balance children’s clothing safety and circular economy from a consumer’s perspective. We will deepen our discussion on this theme from different perspectives.
Event Time / Date: 6:30 pm- / March 26
