Harch have released our first ever “Harch Impact Report 2025.”
Since its founding in 2015, Harch has championed “Publishing a Better Future” and has communicated ideas and practices for making society better. Amid major shifts in the premises of society, such as the climate crisis, social division, and the rapid spread of generative AI, we too are rethinking the question of “what role media and companies should play in the era ahead.”
Against this backdrop, Harch has positioned 2025 as a period of second founding and renewed its mission to “Rewrite Our Futures.” Moving beyond the unidirectional relationship of “transmitting and receiving,” we are exploring a way of being in which, together with our readers, partners, and local communities, we carefully untangle the threads of complexly intertwined problems and reweave a more desirable future together.
The Impact Report we have released presents Harch’s current position, including not only our past achievements but also our ongoing trial and error and the challenges we face. Through this report, we aim to spark dialogue with many people about the role of media in the AI era, the connections between people, and what a better future should look like.
Report Highlights
How Our Business Relates to Social Issues: People, Planet, Prosperity

Through its business activities, Harch aims to build a regenerative business model that improves the environment and gives rise to connections in society. We organize these efforts from three perspectives, “People (society),” “Planet (environment),” and “Prosperity (economy),” and the report discloses the achievements and challenges of each.
Specifically, through our business, are we creating opportunities for the people we engage with to live as themselves and with hope? Are we bringing a better influence to the future of the planet? And are we able to run these as a sustainable business? We place these three questions at the core of our business. We are still only halfway there, but we will continue this process of trial and error in order to create a more desirable future.
Continuing to Ask “What Makes a Good Company”

Harch obtained B Corp certification in 2023, earning an overall score of 101.3. B Corp is an international certification given to companies that meet high standards in areas such as consideration for the environment and society, transparency, and governance, and it is known worldwide as one of the indicators of “companies that create positive impact on society and the environment.”
In this report, we explore how the company should be through our relationship with B Corp. In a dialogue within the report, there was the remark that “B Corp is a system built on a belief in the goodness of people, and even after obtaining certification, it is important for each individual to keep asking questions.” A reassessment under the new standards is also coming up in 2026, and we will continue to ask what makes a good company while working sincerely toward creating impact.
Each Team Envisions Its Own “Desired Future”

Leveraging its three strengths of sustainability, design, and media, Harch operates digital media across multiple fields and develops a sustainability and circular economy support business for companies and local governments.
In the digital media business, each medium, whether aimed at companies, consumers, local communities, or overseas audiences, serves as an entry point for a different stakeholder while aiming for the transition to a sustainable society. In this report, each team looked back on the impact of its own activities and put its future into words. Beyond delivering information, each team envisions a more desirable future in its own field.
In the sustainability and circular economy support business for companies and local governments, we accompany our partners seamlessly, from research to talent development, business development, and communication. “We want to create a more exciting future.” Starting from this aspiration, we aim to generate a chain of action by learning from and making use of creative ideas from Japan and abroad together with people in diverse positions. In this report, through each case, we convey not only the results but also the very process of “how to face questions that have no single right answer.”
The Changing Role of Media: An Era Where the Process Itself Becomes Value

“There are limits to changing people’s behavior simply by delivering information one way. It is the combination of media and dialogue that is precisely what social transformation needs.”
Arifuku, the representative of Future Sessions Inc., with whom we have been collaborating since last year, said this in a dialogue with Kato, Harch’s representative. Precisely because this is an era in which AI can immediately produce “answers,” we believe that media should not present answers but rather be a “facilitator” that values the process of posing questions and creating satisfying solutions together with readers. Going forward, we will further advance the fusion of media’s power to communicate and the collaborative creativity of dialogue.

Reflecting on Our Report Release Event
Marking the publication of this Impact Report, we hoped to share our strengths, our challenges, and our shortcomings just as they are, and to engage in dialogue with as many stakeholders as possible. The event served as a space for dialogue where, starting from the report, we considered and designed the next impact together.
During the event, each participant shared their connection with Harch and explored how the connections can be even broader ecosystems for solving social environmental issues. We appreciate all the participants for this event, and wish to realize those great ideas born in the discussions.
