The original short documentary The Repair Cafe, produced by our media platform IDEAS FOR GOOD, was recently featured in an article on Nikkei’s digital edition.

The Repair Cafe is the original short documentary produced by our media platform “IDEAS FOR GOOD” which shares ideas to make society better. Originating in the Netherlands, Repair Cafés are community-driven initiatives where volunteers repair broken items—such as electronics, clothing, or bicycles—that shops often refuse to fix. The short film captures the people and stories behind these gatherings, where not only objects but also something greater is being restored.

A still from “The Repair Cafe”

The Nikkei article introduced our documentary as a representative example of the Repair Café movement. It also included comments from the creators and shared how the film has inspired new community initiatives.

IDEAS FOR GOOD will continue to share insights and stories related to the circular economy.
